* The Center for Sacred Studies is dedicated to the evolution of
consciousness by honoring and sustaining indigenous ways of life, the
respect and honor of Mother Earth, peace and unity through diverse
spiritual practices, prayer and meditation services, reawakening ancestral
wisdom in the face of severe divisive patriarchal and insane corporate
destruction, solidarity with MOther Earth and Her inhabitants using
cooperation, community, interconnectedness, hope and inspiration to
rebalance and heal the injustices and past violences forced upon our
sacred lands.
Through ceremony, cross-cultural spiritual practices, accessing the Divine
Feminine and expansion of consciousness, the visionary founders are
reawakening and lighting the path for the next 7 generations and in all
corners of the universe. Through a responsible revolution in values,
passing down of indigenous rituals and traditions and ways to preserve our
culture, we seek to organize and unify women who heal the planet, share
natural healing methods and medicinal herbs, sponsor elders who hold
ancient healing practices with sacred plants. In building solid alliances
to rescue our planet, save our communities and sustain life on this
planet, these visionary women elders are bravely, vigorously confronting
oppressors and sharing prophecies on the urgency of releasing past
patterns of war and aggression, paternal hierarchies, genocidal
occupations and theft of Mother Earths precious resources. Through
gathering, sharing and releasing, the original tribal societies consulted
the elder grandmothers counsel as the final authority on vital community
issues and are once again becoming the new wise voice reawakening the
spirit of cooperation to reach justice, peace and abundance for all.

Book Launch and Cavalcade of Stars for Ericka Lutz's novel The Edge of Maybe - 7:00pm
446 Valencia Street
San Francisco, CA 94103
Price: $25/$15

TBA when Clara will be performing...

You are invited to A Night on the Edge - Celebrate Ericka Lutz's novel "The Edge of Maybe"

It's a Party, It's a Performance, It's a Cavalcade of Stars!

Erika's debut novel, The Edge of Maybe, is coming out March 1st from Last Light Studio. Set in Oakland, the novel satirizes foodie and yoga culture and political correctness, while exploring family bonds and what it really means to grow up and enter middle age.

This is not your usual book launch. It's a PARTY and it's a PERFORMANCE! It's in a THEATER, not a bookstore.

She's invited some of her insanely talented friends to riff on the idea, The Edge of Maybe. Check out the cast list, below. Music, comedy, solo, dance, clowning…! I will read! There will be wine! This is truly a star studded evening.

I'm asking you to buy a (very reasonably priced) ticket to cover my costs.
GET TICKETS NOW - What a deal!
Use the secret "Friend of Ericka" code LOVE when you purchase, and you will get a big discount from the listed price. Because you are my friend, you will pay $12 for a ticket, or pay $23 for a ticket + an inscribed copy of the book.
https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/221801

PLEASE get your tickets in advance – the event is also open to the public and costs more at the door.

Clara Bellino Playing @ Yoshi's - 8:00 PM
1330 Fillmore St
San Francisco, CA 94115
Price: TBA

Also Performing:

Kate Burkart - http://kateburkart.com/
Mike Gibbons - http://mikegibbons.net/

The show will be on the Yoshi's Lounge Stage, in the restaurant/bar area of the club, where lots of great shows have been happening over the past year. The night will consist of 3 artists: Kate Burkart, Clara with percussionist Michael Shiplet and Bassplayer/guitarist Dani Torres, and Mike Gibbons trading 20 minute sets starting at 8:00, ending around 10:30 or 11:30 depending on the crowd and the performers.

The concept for this series of Sunday evening shows is "Songwriters Unplugged."  This series is a chance for artists to present an intimate, stripped-down rendition of their band's material, with a fresh take on familiar songs, and a unique opportunity for fans to connect with the songwriters in a relaxed and casual format.

The talent making it onto shows and on the Bands to watch list are of merit and Rob says, “Ripstar provides opportunities through radio spinning, live events, and networking for acts to get more attention from the public and in some cases from our industry allies. Slowly, but surely, people are catching on.”

Why? The Flying Fish Organic Village is a newly opened eco-village style hostel that is run by an indigenous family on a remote island in Fiji. In January massive flooding - the worst in history - submerged and destroyed their organic family farm that provided food for their clan of over 200 people and supported their new eco-business. Tourism has stopped and they have received no help from the government, relief agencies, or media. We are raising money to help the family replant their organic farm and become self-sustaining once again. Come join us! $10-$20 suggested donation, all donations accepted! Larger donations receive credits at the Flying Fish Organic Village! $40/one night, $75/2 nights, $100/3 nights, $50/night thereafter www.fijiorganicvillage.com Contact Aletha to make an immediate donation for emergency supplies.

Price: $20.00
On Sunday, March 11th, the Alameda music community will once again gather to aid one of their own in need. Well-known Blues and Boogie piano player David Krull is battling a genetic blood disease that attacks the liver and kidneys. Rooster’s Roadhouse (1700 Clement Street at Grand, Alameda, 510.337.9190) will host a benefit concert with all proceeds going to Krull. Needless to say, medical bills are adding up. The doors will open at 3:00 pm; scheduled acts include David and his band, Daniel Castro, The Alameda All Stars and Strawberry Jam. There will be guest appearances by Pat Potter and Clara Bellino, with other artists yet to be finalized. Rumors are that Barrelhouse Chuck and Big Gay Fish will be on hand. The cover charge is $20. CDs and merchandise will be available. David’s career began in Kansas City and St. Louis before touring the world with Jimmy Rogers. He has played with many of the greats in the blues world, including Johnnie Johnson, Henry Townsend, Hubert Sumlin, Bonnie Raitt and Elvin Bishop. He moved to Alameda ten years ago and has played with a number of local acts. Last year, he released his first solo CD, Can’t Let Go. David Krull has always been willing to donate his talents to benefit shows for local causes and individuals. Now, it is Alameda’s chance to return the favor. Please come out in support of David; the fantastic music will be an added bonus! Please pass this on to your friends!

King whose vocals evoke the haunting qualities of Jimi Hendrix and the sardonic wit of Lou Reed. See photos at http://fritzmyer.com/2005_whats_left_pix/ Margie Perez and Disaster Relief New Orleans singer-songwriter Margie Perez, who grew up and performed on stage for many years in Washington, D.C., brings her New Orleans-infused pop back home--straight from the Crescent City, where she has lived since 2004. A WAMMIE nominee and Songwriter's Association of Washington song contest winner, she has recently performed with several bands in New Orleans at the legendary Tipitina's, the Blue Nile and Cafe Brasil. Margie has temporarily returned home to perform her melodic, danceable, catchy and often-funny pop songs from her debut CD "Part-time Goddess" with her new band, "Disaster Relief," featuring members of the band What's Left. The Vitale Signs The Vitale Signs specialize in classic/original blues and hard-driving rock n' roll. Keeping the pulse alive are husband and wife team Tom and Gaysu Vitale on guitar and bass, drummer/percussionist and vocalist, L.T. King "beating, shaking and scraping," and Andrew Baxley adding drive and attitude on guitar, vocals and harmonica. See photos at http://www.fritzmyer.com/vital_signs_7-23-2005/
